Kaleidoscope doesn’t try to resolve everything neatly, but instead trusts the reader to slow down, notice, reflect, and discern how small shifts in perspective can reveal entirely new patterns of meaning. The honesty within pages holds complexity without rushing to closure, allowing experiences, identities, and even tensions to sit together long enough for something deeper to emerge. It resonated strongly with my belief that growth is rarely linear but more like a gentle turning of the lens.
Kimberly read a couple poems that were a healing salve to my heart and soul. Her words are healing through her sharing similar life moments. It’s the feeling that she relates and totally gets common life experiences. She speaks with such grace the words I’ve felt for so many years, but I’ve been at a loss to find.
I love the way she brings life with nature, creation, light and color. I can’t wait for the book to arrive and read it in it’s entirety!
I was lucky enough to be around when parts of this book came to life.
I can still see her sitting at the yellow high top table underneath the old apricot tree, brow furrowed, yet a body relaxed as the pen memorized the thoughts in her head.
I also have memories of her under our porch looking in the distance at the yellow top table that she would find herself sitting in.
If you too, want to sit in an orchard and be transported, read this book of poems.
Kimberly has the ability to turn small, everyday moments into something transformative. Her words and their imagery made me pause, reflect, and see my own life differently because they captured emotions I’ve felt but never quite found the words for. Her honesty made the experience feel intimate, almost like a conversation I didn’t realize I needed. They touched on universal experiences—love, loss, growth and healing and I can't wait for her next one!!!
Kimberly extends a hand to her readers inviting them to walk with her out of places of darkness and pain, and leads by example into the light. In “I’m Still 10” she says
“Hope reaches down for me,
I will choose to trust again”.
Agin she writes in another poem “the most sincere love grows from brokenness” inviting us by our own choices to press through to a place of hope, healing and resilience.
