In the Sabij Desert where Djinn demons, mortals and even the gods reside, come two unlikely allies.
 
Jaspen a half Djinn, called a Raksheesh in their tongue, fights hard to rise above the status given to him while overcoming prejudice and trying to learn more about the secrets of his birth.
 
Hassan, a decorated general in the tribe of Shemesh, has became  a thorn in the king's side for knowing about a secret that  he doesn't want to get out.
